Click Events Manager >> Event Categories >> Add Name field.
Add category fot Menu: Go to Apperance >> Menus >> Choose a category and add to menu.
Go to Events Manager >> Event Category >> Click "View" link of a category
You can show/hide Search form in Event Settings.
You can change Card Template in Event Settings.
If you want to change slug "categories" to other word, you can change in Event Settings.
You can customize archive/category in child theme.
